Many years ago, when I first moved to Florida, I was a pretty young person out on my own for the first time. Naturally, a few of my first apartments were not necessarily premium properties. One incident stands out in my mind. After a relatively long evening, I got up in the middle of the night and made my way to the kitchen for what I hoped was a big glass of water. Turning on that kitchen light changed the way I thought about pest control forever. There had to have been a zillion, yes that is a technical term, roaches all over the place.
So here are a few things to think about in no particular order:
1. Put the food way! Leaving some leftovers out in the kitchen for a housemate is a pretty bad idea. This simple step will negate at least some of your potential problems with ROACHES and ANTS.
2. Seal access points to your home. Caulk openings as best you can. This step will help in the battle against ROACHES, ANTS, and SPIDERS.
3. Remove all the vegetative type debris from the side and/or back of the house. All sorts of nasty “critters” will want to hang out there. SPIDERS are at the top of that list.
