How often will Luv-A-Lawn visit my property?

We will be on your property a minimum of 6 times per year and if you elect to have our Lawn and Shrub Care program, we will be there once a month or 12 times every year. Our Lawn and Shrub Care programs run in opposite months of each other, therefore placing us on your property every month. This allows our trained applicators the opportunity to proactively inspect and treat any problems in your landscape should they exist during our visit regardless of which service is scheduled that day. In other words, if we are there for your regular scheduled “Lawn Service”, and you also have our Shrub Care Program, our applicators are trained to inspect your shrubs at that time and treat any problems if they exist in addition to performing the regular scheduled Lawn Service.

Are the treatments pre-mixed?

No, every landscape has different requirements and therefore, Luv-A-Lawn vehicles were designed to custom mix for a particular landscapes needs. Our applicators are trained and equipped to mix and treat for just about any situation they run into in the field; maybe chinch bugs, fire ants, fleas, or some fertilization requirements, whatever the case might be, our vehicles and staff will custom mix and your property will be treated with the proper application for the best results. Unfortunately for consumers, most of our competitors spray the same mixture on every property, even though they know “each property needs different products and nutrients”. FAQ’s

How long should I wait before my children and/or pets may safely walk on the lawn?

Luv-A-Lawn recommends that you keep your pets & children off the lawn about one hour after the application has been watered in. This is why we recommend watering in our application the same day or evening it is applied. The law allows you 48 hours to water in our application, even if it is not your watering day. After your application has been watered in, your children & pets can return to the lawn without any precautions.

What is the best time to water my lawn?

We suggest you water between the early morning hours and sunrise. You want your irrigation system turning off just before the sun rises, therefore not prolonging the “Natural Dew Period” which will help prevent weed and fungus problems. Additionally, in the early morning hours the wind is usually down and very little water will be lost to evaporation by the sun.

What is the proper mowing height for St. Augustine turf and how often should I mow?

We recommend that our customers keep their lawn mowed between 3 ½ to 4 inches. It is important to mow St. Augustine turf often, at least once a week during the growing period and twice a month during the cooler months. The key is to never remove more than 1/3 of the leave blades while mowing. Doing so can stress the turf and make it susceptible to weed and insect problems. Additionally, be sure to sharpen your blades often as dull blades will tear the grass and also place un-wanted stress on the turf. FAQ’s
