Zellwood is a relatively small, unincorporated part of Orange County, Florida, included in the Orlando–Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,817 in the 2010 census, with a generous amount of retirees and a casual suburban feel. Lake Apopka, Lake Dora, Lake Yale, Lake Ola, and many water activities are located nearby. All that said, being in Central Florida, our Zellwood friends still have to pay attention to Zellwood Florida Shrub Care. That is where we come in!

The previously mentioned, Lake Apopka, had fallen on hard times in terms of pollution. In 1996, then Governor Lawton Chiles, signed the Lake Apopka Restoration Act which led  to a $100 million plus investment in rehabilitation. While far from perfect, according to Project Blue Ether: “As the health of the area around the lake has improved, birds have returned and now Lake Apopka sees a great diversity of species, second only to Everglades National Park in the state.” A great story that continues to unfold.

The whole world knows about all of lifestyle activities that are available in Central Florida, it would be horrible  if our Zellwood friends didn’t have time to enjoy them because of shrub care chores.
