Longwood, Florida is the quintessential suburban experience located just north of Orlando, Florida. In the last U.S. Census, it had a robust population of 13,657. This is one of the many fine places to live in our home, Central Florida. According to Wikipedia, “the city has a total area of 5.6 square miles, of which 5.3 square miles is land and 0.3 square miles (5.17%) is water. The city has one of the oldest trees in America within its borders: the Lady Liberty.” The Lady Liberty is shown above.

Again, per Wikipedia, “this is a Bald Cypress located in Big Tree Park in Longwood, Florida. The tree is over 2,000 years old and stands 40 feet from the former site of The Senator, a 3,500-year-old Pond Cypress that burned down on January 16, 2012. With the Senator’s demise, Big Tree Park has taken greater notice of its last remaining giant and has taken and has taken steps to ensure its preservation.”
